Bored at the gym one day I decided to see what all the fuss was about back near the dance
floor area. What I found was a new love, a way to connect two passions (exercise and dance)
into one sweaty, fun workout. After months of taking classes I found myself thinking, "why
don't you just try teaching this?"
Fast forward some months and I was one of two men in a room full of women, all of us looking
to become Zumba Instructors. After a grueling but enjoyable day, I walked out certified and
ready to go. A month later, I began teaching my own class and find it a relief and constant
source of inspiration.
Zumba really is for all fitness levels (though if you ask my classes, they'll say it's for the
advanced) and I try to incorporate different types of moves, styles, and movements into the
workout to keep it fresh and fun. Zumba really depends on its instructors and I like to think
I'm one of the crazier ones working em' out in the Midwest.
I can currently be found at Gold's Gym Westport on Wednesday nights. If you're in KC or will
